Lecture: Intro To After Effects

Learning Objectives:
  • Basic understanding on how to link Adobe Photoshop layers into After Effects
  • Understanding the compositing concept from still images to moving images
Adobe After Effects
  • 2.5D animation software
    • used for animation, visual effects, and motion picture compositing
    • used in film, TV, and web video creation
    • used in the post-production phase
  • Has hundreds of effects that can be used to manipulate imagery
    • allows you to combine layers of video and images into the same scene
  • Takes a different approach for creating movement
    • manipulating vector
    • rasterised art to create and tell a story
  • Integrate physical based media as well through photographs and videography.

All the layers need to be arrange and rename accordingly so that it will be organize and easy to be animated in After Effects.

Adobe After Effects is a digital visual effects, motion graphics, and compositing application.
  • can import elements such as images, video, vector and more into After Effects
  • After Effects files does not embed its media, it links to it

I tried creating poster according to my sketches #1 - #3, but they didn't turn out well.

While working on the digital poster, a new idea popped up, so I came out with another sketch.
